CIRPP Modeling of Products at the Part Level

The main activity in physical realization of products is creation of models of virtual prototypes with the accent on associativity, as well as variant design of families of products. Geometric information on a product includes the types of its surfaces and edges, their dimensions and tolerances.

Today, in the era of creation and exchange of information in their electronic form, the emphasis is placed on communication within production, without paper documentation. This is the way to create conditions for transfer of digital geometric information from the CAD database into the CAM database by using the rules of integration and translation for the purpose of efficient realization of part production.

On the basis of geometric models of products, parameters for a lot of other applications such as calculations of moments of inertia, volume and mass of products, analyses of mechanisms, FEM modeling and NC programming are generated.

For design of products at the part level, CIRPP uses the software package SolidEdge , which is the leading CAD program of EDS UNIGRAPHICS representing a working tool for fast and efficient design of a quality product in a short period of time. By means of this software package, in addition to generation of 3D models of products, it is possible to achieve automatic generation of the workshop drawing of a part .

Today, more than 70% of all CAD systems in the world based on modeling by solids use the so-called PARASOLID, an exact BREP geometric modeler (core) supported by solid modeling.

Parasolid provides a comprehensive base of modeling processes and represents a key tool for supporting PLM. Practically approved by its application in top CAD software ( NX, Solid Edge, Femap, Teamcenter, ... ), Parasolid is also integrated in medium-class systems and widely applied in independent CAD, CAM and CAE systems.
